My little potty genius

Ainsley pretty much potty trained herself. She just seemed to "get it." From the start, she has only had one accident. She really has amazed us all. Colton was a lot more talkative at her age, but I think Ainsley is more perceptive. She mimics everything!

We had a lovely Christmas this year. Christmas eve, we went to my parents house for cotechino, an Italian sausage. Then Charles and I stated up way too late putting Ainsley's kitchen together!

It turned out so cute! Before that, Colton put out cookies and milk for santa.

This past weekend we went to Grandbury to celebrate Christmas with the Moores. We went to a state championship game at Cowboys Stadium and we went to the hospital to see baby William. It was the first time the kids got to meet their new cousin!

We have been keeping busy this Christmas season. We went to Moody Gardens Festival of Lights with some friends of ours and, of course, Treeluke has been keeping busy getting into trouble! We have done Christmas arts & crafts and we have plans to do a lot more of that! Colton also had his Christmas program at school today. He did such a great job singing!

Thanksgiving parties and more!

Today was a big day for me! Colton and Ainsley both had their thanksgiving parties at their school. I went to Colton's class first and sat with him for a while and then I went and sat with Ainsley for a while. Her class is so cute! There is only one other little girl in her class. They both made placemats with what they are thankful for.

Then, this evening we had the charger offense over for dinner. I made 8 lbs of baked ziti for 30 high school boys. It was crazy but a lot of fun. I was very impressed with how polite and appreciative they all were. Charles has a game on Saturday and the outcome of that game will decide what we do for thanksgiving.

Saturday was a busy day for us. Colton had his last soccer game of the season and Charles and the Chargers had their first playoff game of the season. Colton's team won their game and so did the Chargers!

This year Colton was a shark and Ainsley was a bumblebee. I had a really cute cow outfit I was going to put on her but she refused to put it on. I went an got her this bumblebee dress on sale at old navy. She was excited to put it on. They are adorable. Colton is an old trick or treating pro but Ainsley wouldn't go up to any of the doors. I'm sure next year will be a different story!

We went to Dewberry Farms today. It's a pumpkin patch/carnival type place with all sorts of activities for the kids. We went with the Renfros, a fellow coaches family. They have 2 little girls that are the same age as Colton and Ainsley. We had a great time!

Soccer fun and first fish!

Today Colton played a soccer game against my childhood friend, Sheri's, son's team. It was too cute! Colton did really well this game. He had an assist and he actually took a shot on goal!

Then, after the game, my dad and brother took Colton and Ty fishing so that us girls could go to a bridal shower. Luckily, I was still there when Colton caught his first fish!

Of course he threw it back but it was exciting!

Ainsley started school today! She is the cutest little school girl ever! She was very excited to put her backpack on and carry her lunch box. We dropped Colton off first so she could see how he just goes in the classroom and sits down. Then I took her to her classroom and we put her little backpack and lunchbox in the cubby and walked in. At first she was ok then she saw some other little girl crying and started. I thought it was best to just say bye and walk out. I was a wreck! I think she calmed down. I stood outside the door and I didn't her her crying anymore. Hopefully she has a good day.

Colton started pre school today! He is going 4 days a week this year. Ainsley starts tomorrow so I will post about her day tomorrow. Last night, we had Open House and I was a bit nervous about Ainsley. She was looking scared and on the verge of tears when we first walked in her room, but the puzzles and toys quickly took her attention. By the end, she let her teacher hold her so that was a major plus!

Well football season is underway and we started off with a tough loss to Pearland Dawson. It was so hot and trying to keep 2 kids occupied in the stands was no easy feat. We made it though and everything was fine. A couple of days ago was Meet the Chargers night which is a big pep rally before the start of the season. Colton was jamming out!

River Trip 2011

This past weekend was our annual river trip. We left on Wednesday and stopped for lunch in San Marcos and ate at Mamacitas where we met up with 2 of Charles' former players who are now Bobcats! We then made our way to Wimberley. The river was a little low this year but it wasn't too bad. Ainsley liked the river the first couple of days but after a while she was over it. We set up a sheet and projected movies onto it at night which was really cool. Here are some pics from the week.

Charlotte Turns 2!

This past weekend we went to Tyler to celebrate cousin Charlotte's 2nd birthday! The party was at a farm where they had a petting zoo, pony rides, and more! The kids had a blast!

4 year and 15 month stats!

Last week, Colton and Ainsley both went to the dr. Colton went in for his 4 year check up and Ainsley went in for her 15 month check up. Colton is coming in at a whopping 3'4" tall (43%) and 38 lbs. (69%). Ainsley is measuring in at 2'7.5" (81%) and 23 lbs 3 oz. (55%). Colton got 4 shots and Ainsley got 2. They both did well. Ainsley was pretty scared of Dr. Talbot and cried and cried!

Lately, the kids have been playing really well with each other. Ainsley wants to do everything her big brother does. They just look at each other and laugh. It's very sweet!

Tonight was the spring football game for Charles' school. After the game they did a really neat thing for the little kids. They got to run through the tunnel and then they did a few drills with the football players. Colton had a blast!

Today was the launch of the shuttle Endeavour. It was the 25th and final liftoff for that shuttle and the second to last shuttle launch ever. Mark works for Lockheed Martin and was invited to watch the launch in NASA's big auditorium so we went. Colton was amazed and even Ainsley watched.

Easter Weekend in Granbury

We went to Granbury for Easter weekend to spend it with Charles' family. On Friday, we colored Easter eggs and then went outside to play on the playground and play with the horses. Charlotte and Ainsley didn't really care about the egg coloring but Colton had a blast!

Then on Saturday, Meme set us up to go on a guided tour of Fossil Rim, a wildlife park. We had a blast! We fed zebra, deer, ostriches and giraffe! That was the coolest thing!

Then we headed home and David and Sarah came over for dinner and Easter egg hunting!

I took Ainsley to the dr for her one year visit and everything is great. She is 21.13 pounds (64%). She is 47% in height and 84% in head circumference. She got 3 shots and a finger prick but she's a champ and didn't cry that much.

I took Monday, February 28th off because it is Ainsley's actual birthday and mom and I took the kids to the zoo. Colton loved all the animals and knew more about them then we did because of Diego and Wonder Pets! Ainsley was in the best mood despite not having a nap! I can't believe our sweet baby girl is 1! I can't remember our life without her. She is a joy! She is walking and babbling. She says mama and dada and turtle and a few other words. We have been so busy lately with party planning and soccer and everything else going on. Last weekend I hosted a bridal shower for my BFF Tiffany. Tiff is getting married on March 11 and both Ainsley and I are in it. She is going to be the cutest flowergirl! Also, we have a big party coming up on Saturday! Ainsley's first birthday party! I got an unexpected day off yesterday so I asked Colton what he wanted to do and he said, "Go on the Ferry Boat!" We hopped in the car and drove to Galveston. Colton had a blast feeding the birds and looking at the water. Ainsley was a little scared. Then we came home and ate lunch and got cleaned up and we met Sheri and Daniel at Space Center Houston! Ainsley loved playing in the little ball pit and Colton loved driving the rovers and the big play ground. We had such a fun day!

Can't believe our princess is already 11 months old! Her birthday plans are in full motion and have been for a while! Can't wait! Ainsley is walking everywhere. She now has 8 teeth and says "dada" and we swear she says Thank You. Such a genius!

Ainsley turned 10 months old on the 28th. I'm going to say she walking because she can take about 10 steps before falling and she's getting braver and braver each day. It won't be long before she completely takes off. She has 5 teeth now. She's been pretty sick these last few weeks but seems to be getting better. She is just a funny, happy little girl and I can't wait to see her grow!

Christmas was so fun this year. Colton is at a great age! We were all a little sick though. Ainsley didn't feel well at all and slept most of the day. :-( We missed my dad but got to spend Christmas morning with him on Skype. 9 Months!

Ainsley turned 9 months old on Sunday. Yesterday we went in for her 9 month appt. She is 2' 4.5" tall, weighs 20 lb 8.5 oz and is right around the 75% for both. Such a big girl!

This Thanksgiving we went to Granbury and spent it with the Moores! Aunt Beth, www.bethmoorephoto.com, took some beautiful family pictures of us and Ainsley got to play with her cousin Charlotte. Aren't they cute? We had a blast and can't wait to go back. Colton already misses the horses!

Football ended last Friday night and we are already going through withdrawals. The chargers lost in OT to hightower. Now Charles has a couple of weeks off until soccer starts. Colton came home from school today and was so excited to show off the award he got. He got a character award for obedience. Such a proud mama! He is also very proud of himself and is sleeping with his certificate right now! Ainsley is very close to walking! She has mastered crawling and pulls up on everything! She hasn't been feeling well lately and has a few teeth trying to break through.

I'm a little late with this post but Ainsley turned 8 months old on Oct. 28. She is doing all sorts of fun things now!She can clap and wave. She pulls up on everything and can walk all the way around the table. She can stand by herself for a few seconds without falling. She will be walking in the next month for sure! She is such a joy and a fun, happy little baby! We love her so much!

Pumpkin Carving, Football and Halloween

We have had a busy couple of weeks. We carved our pumpkin for Halloween and, like last year, Colton refused to touch the gooey stuff. Ainsley has not been feeling well. I think she is trying to cut her top teeth. The Chargers took on Clear Creek and beat them for the 3rd year in a row and my little donkey went trick or treating and loved it! One more regular season football game and then PLAYOFFS! Oh, and Colton learned how to whistle!

District play started on Saturday with a game against Pearland. We lost in a close game, but Colton had a lot of fun running through the tunnel. Ainsley didn't feel so good but she was a trooper and we had some special guests come into town. Uncle mark, Aunt Beth and Charlotte came in to spend the weekend with us! We enjoyed having them so much! Colton loves his cousin Charlotte and I think Charlotte loves him back. She laughed at everything he did!

We took baby girl to the hospital for her kidney tests on Friday. She was so good! The first test was a kidney ultrasound. She just laid there and let the lady do what she had to do. The second test was where they had to put in a catheter and put a dye into her bladder to see if she had any kidney reflux. She didn't cry once! All the test came back negative so the kidney infection she had was an isolated event. After the hospital she did start having diarrhea and throwing up all weekend and I took her in today and she has a virus. She's also cutting teeth so poor girl just doesn't feel right! We had a fun little Sunday at Schlitterbaun in Galveston yesterday. Ainsley enjoyed herself (I didn't get any photos) and Colton had a blast. We sure will miss Paw Paw when he leaves! :-(

First Day of School!

Colton started Mother's Day Out again this year. He is now a big boy in a big boy classroom with a computer! They get to go to the library this year and check out a book. He also gets to play on the big playground instead of the little kid playground. He is very excited about that! I dropped him off this morning and he was totally fine. After all, he always has fun at school!

6 month stats!

Ainsley went to the dr. today for her 6 month check up and everything is fine.
She is 18 lb. 1 oz, 2'2.75" long and has a 17.01" head circumference. She got 3 shots and an oral vaccine today. She is doing great! Love my little girl!

6 Months!

On Saturday, our baby girl turned 6 months old! She has gotten so big. She is turning over both ways and sitting up and trying to scoot a little so I don't think it will be long before she figures out how to crawl. She will NOT eat solids though. She clamps her mouth shut and I literally have to pry her mouth open. It's the weirdest thing. She still sleeps through the night and is a very happy baby!

The first football game was last night and the Chargers beat Pearland Dawson 40-25! It was a long game because it was televised, but the kids were troopers. Colton got to run through the tunnel at the beginning of the game and was so excited about it. Ainsley took a little 15 minute catnap in the 2nd quarter but then was up for the rest of the game. Turns out she is a big football fan! Thank goodness! We are excited about football this year!

Football season is in full force. Two a days started last week and we haven't seen much of Charles. He had most of this weekend off but that will be the last in a long time! I am looking forward to football season and going to the games. It's going to be interesting with a baby now but we will be fine.

Ainsley started running a fever Tuesday so I took her to the dr. They did blood work and urine sample and it came back that she has a kidney infection. They gave her a shot of antibiotics and we had to come back the next day for a second shot of antibiotics. They sent us home with a prescription for 10 days of oral antibiotics and told us to come back in 8 days to retest and see if it's cleared up. We then need to take her to get her kidneys ultrasound to make sure no permanent damage was done. Baby girl hasn't been feeling well but the antibiotics seem to be working. We go back on Thursday so I will post more then.

Are you ready for some football?

We are! Today is the start of 2 a days which means I lose my husband for the next 4-5 months. :-( We had a nice relaxing weekend though. (His last one off for 4-5 months!) We cleaned the house and played with legos and took naps and just had FUN! Ainsley is getting VERY good at sitting up on her own. Here are some pics of our weekend. And I had to put the Cleo pic in there. When Colton was a baby, I got a picture of Cleo laying next to him and now I got a picture of Cleo laying next to Ainsley. They love each other! The one in the pink is Ainsley. (Obviously!) And, as you can see, my son never wears pants.

First Food!

I have been trying to hold off on feeding Ainsley real food because it's just a pain and I'm in no hurry. But she started waking up at 3:00 to eat at night so I figured it's time. We fed her rice cereal last night and Colton was very excited about it. Ainsley....not so much. She got better with it but I think she was just frustrated because she was very hungry and wasn't getting what she was used to. We will try again!

TBall 2010

Colton finished his first season of tball tonight. He had a lot of fun! It was a good little program for him. He learned a lot and I know he had a great time. They all got trophies and he is so proud of his. He wanted to put it on his dresser so he could see it when he went to sleep. Such a cutie!

Ainsley 5 Months

Ainsley is 5 months old already! She is doing all sorts of new things. She rolls over pretty well. She likes being on her back so she very rarely rolls onto her stomach but when she is on her stomach she will almost always roll over to her back. She grabs at things and puts everything in her mouth. She doesn't have any teeth yet. I haven't started feeding her solids yet. I am putting that off although I'll probably start soon. I got the high chair out. She still sleeps great although she hasn't been feeling well these last few days so she hasn't slept as well as usual. She is just such a cute, content little baby and we are so lucky to have her!

Brother/Sister Love

The bigger Ainsley is getting the more she is loving her big brother! She will just stare at him and smile. The bigger she is getting and the more mobile she is getting means that he can play with her more and he loves to do that. "Mama, can we play with the baby?" He always asks. "I think she needs some tummy time." He says. Everytime she does something new, roll over, grab things, laugh, he gets such a kick out of it. We put her in a new bath seat recently because she loves to push up and roll over so her baby bath was too small. She loves it because she can sit up and see her big brother and he loves it because it gives him more room in the bathtub to play! He loves his baby sister!

Ainsley Grace - 4 months old!

We went to the pedi yesterday for baby girl's 4 month appt. and we have a future lineman on our hands! She is 15 lbs. 12.5 oz. (90%), 26" long (90%) and her head circumference is 16.5" (75%). She is doing great! She got 2 shots and an oral vaccine. They put a shot in each of her little thighs. The first one, she didn't even flinch. The 2nd one, she cried for like 5 seconds. She is a good girl! We go back at 6 months. Can wait to see how much she's grown.

T-Ball, Twilight, Wimberley, 4th of July

This has been a busy week in the Moore household. Tuesday was Colton's T-Ball game and he did very well. Mark took some video and pictures which was much better than the videos I have been taking. I can't quite get them to work on my computer though so I need to figure out how to upload them. Here are some of his still photos though.

Then on Tuesday night, (Wednesday morning) Monique and I went to the 12:03 showing of Eclipse. I'm not sure what I was thinking. It was a good movie though but way to late for an old lady to be out. We went to the theater in TX City and boy was that trashy!

Then on Thursday morning we packed up and headed to Wimberley for the 7th annual River Rat Bastards camping trip. Since we have a 4 month old, we rented a cabin that was air conditioned and it was very nice! There was a goose named Honkers that would hang around and Colton loved him. I didn't take any pictures so the ones I am posting were taken by my aunt Nadia. Again, I am terrible at taking pictures. It rained a lot but we did get one full day of sunshine. We got back from Wimberley on July 4th and then went in search of fireworks. We waited for about an hour for the Friendswood fireworks to start but they never did so we packed up and went home. Of course, the started after we did that but we had some sleepy kids to get into bed. Oh well. There is always next year. Then on Monday, Nonna came to pick Colton up to take him on the fire truck for the Friendswood parade. He had a blast. He got to sit on Sarge (from his favorite movie, Cars) and was so excited about it!

Ainsley goes to the dr. today for her 4 month checkup. I will post her latest stats and he new 4 month pictures tomorrow!
