Pee Pee in the potty!

I bought Colton a potty a while back just to have around because he seems to be interested in it. Usually as I am running his bath I put him on it to sit and he usually sits and then gets up and runs around. Last night, I put him on it and he sat and sat and I knew he was doing something and then when he got up he had pee peed in the potty!!!! I screamed and ran into the living room to tell Charles and we gave hugs and high fives to Colton. Colton was laughing and thought it was funny. Now we will keep trying!

Christmas 2008!

We had a great Christmas this year. Colton got a swingset from Meme and Pappy. We haven't put it together yet because we still need to finish our fence. Nonna and PawPaw got him a little electric 4 wheeler. He got an easel and an Elmo chair and a little Brobie jiggly doll from Monique and a lot of other stuff. He had fun! The day after Christmas we went to Granbury and spent a couple days with Meme and Pappy. We had Christmas with the Moores and got to see Mark and Beth, David, GG Moore and GG Green. We had a great time at Christmas and look forward to the new year!

19 months old

Today Colton is 19 months old. I can't believe how much he has grown. He is the cutest, funniest, sweetest little boy. He has been with Daddy this week while Mommy is working. Today is my last day this week though! I will be doing some cooking tomorrow. I plan on trying out cake balls this year. We will see how it goes. It's supposed to be pretty simple. I can't wait until Christmas!

Here is a picture of his shirt they made him at school. The snowman is his footprint! How cute is that! Also, here is another video of him making his favorite sounds. ENJOY!

New Videos

Here is a video for your viewing pleasure. It is of Colton counting, sort of.

Out with the old, in with the new

Tonight I did something I should have done long ago. I cleaned out Colton's room. We bagged up all the old toys to make room for the new ones he will get for Christmas and I packed away all his old clothes. It was very sad. I realized he's not really a baby anymore. He's a little boy. Needless to say, there are two big bags of things that I don't really want to get rid of in case we have another boy. Colton helped with this project as did Cleo, Caesar, Fat Boy and Dolly. Daddy came in to help as well. His room is very clean now. I still need to tackle his closet because there are things in there I know I can get rid of. We ate at Cici's tonight. It's one of Colton's favorites because he loves Pasta. "More pata. more pata" he says. Super cute. Thursday is his Happy Birthday Jesus party at school and I am in charge of bringing the cookie cake. I am getting very excited about decorating it. Should I bring little gifts for the kids or do you only do that at Halloween? I did it for halloween but I was the only parent that did so I don't think anyone else will be doing it for Christmas. I am off to bed now. I have to go to Huntsville tomorrow, YUCK!

SNOW IN HOUSTON

We had snow last night. Colton didn't like it so much. He gets very disgusted when there is dirt or hair on the floor. He points to it and growls in disgust. That is what he was doing to the snow. He also was very upset that it was on his shoes. We made a snowman though and then our snowdog, Caesar, licked it and knocked it over. Cleo was a wuss and didn't like the snow. I guess there will be no future in dog sledding for her.

Milestones

Colton is talking up a storm lately and his favorite word seems to be "No." He knows what he wants and he is determined to get it. He is also very polite and picks up his toys when asked. His sleeping has GREATLY improved and the last two nights there has been absolutely no crying when it's time to go to bed. He will usually wake up at least once crying but it's pretty easy to calm him down and then he will sleep the rest of the night. The first night he went to bed at around 9 and woke up crying at 10:30 and then slept the rest of the night. Last night he woke up around 2 crying so I think each night will get later and later until he sleeps the night again. I don't mind him waking up. I just hated the crying when it was time for bed, but now that that has stopped (I hope!) it's much better. He is just a happy kid. Always smiling and laughing and playing around. He's very well - adjusted. He's also very sensitive. Last night, he was eating his grilled cheese and he just had a little piece left in his hand and Cleo reached up and took it from him so I swatted her. Colton was so upset and he kept pointing to her saying "EO, EO, EO" (He calls her EO). He was very concerned with whether or not she was ok. I didn't hit her hard, but he made me feel terrible! In other news, I kind of got a promotion at work. It didn't come with a pay raise (yet) but it makes me have a lot more job security. In Feb. I will be taking over the design and production of all eight of our communities newsletters. This is a huge job and I hope I can handle it. I'm looking forward to it because I love doing that kind of thing, but it will be a lot of work. I may even have to work late a couple of nights! (GASP!) At least until 5:30. :-)

Thanksgiving Photos, Anniversary and Slumber Party

Here are a few photos from Thanksgiving. Here is Colton and Pappy with Biscuit. Colton loves Biscuit and vice versa. In other news, Colton's talking is getting so good. He is really able to tell you what he wants and he understands what you tell him. He is probably the funniest little boy I know. He is always laughing and smiling and he knows he is cute! It amazes us how much his speaking is improving each day. Soccer season has started and so far, it's a lot better than football. Charles is actually able to eat dinner with us and he hasn't worked a weekend yet. Charles and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on Saturday. We went to San Antonio for the night. Colton stayed with my mom and had a slumber party with his cousin Ty. This is them taking a bath and Colton doing a very intricate drawing on the bathtub.

Here is a cute present that Colton made at school that he gave us for Thanksgiving. Our little baby is growing up so fast. Every night on our way home, we go through Green Tee to look at lights. There aren't that many up yet, but he still loves them. I have pictures of us decorating our tree but I have to upload them to the computer. I will post them when I do.

Thanksgiving

We went to Granbury for Thanksgiving to see Pappy and Mimi. Colton loved the horses, especially Biscuit, the mini horse. He can even say Biscuit. He kept everyone entertained that is for sure! We went to Canton on Saturday and that was quite an experience! So much shopping and walking. I will definitely go back. We really enjoyed ourselves. We all had a great time with Pappy and Mimi and got to spend some time with Mark and Beth, the parents to be. I think they got a glimpse into what a toddler was like! We can't wait until their little baby comes and Colton will have a new cousin to play with!

18 months

Today we went to the dr. for Colton's 18 month checkup. He didn't need any shots today so that was good. He is 32 3/4" long (60%), 24 lb. 8 oz. (40%) and 19 3/8" head size (80%). Dr. Talbot said his motor skills are tracking like a 2 year old. He's very smart. He is putting words together. Like Elmo nightnight. Or Puppy nightnight. He copies what we are saying. He says Caesar very well now. Overall, he is a genius. That's all there is to it.

We took Christmas Pictures today. Here are a few.

Baby Picasso

Here are some more of Colton's drawings from school. Charles thinks he is a terrible drawer but I think he has potential! They did some water coloring today at school. I wish I were a fly on the wall to see how cute it is when six 1 year olds are coloring.

I know it's a little early, but we bought Colton a potty the other day. He knows when he is peepeeing and can make himself go and can stop midstream (and thinks it's hilarious by the way) so I figured I should at least introduce him to the potty. On Sunday night after his bath I sat him on the potty and he kind of just sat there and then he got up and ran around and then came back and wanted to sit again so we did but nothing happened and then he got up again and peed on the floor next to the potty. Baby steps. The next morning when we got up, he pointed to the potty and said "Wee wee" so he knows what is supposed to happen there. So every night we sit on the potty a little. I'm not forcing it, I'm just getting him used to it. He likes it so that is a good thing. He is having his Thanksgiving party at school next Thursday and I signed up to bring cheese cubes. How many cheese cubes do you bring for a class of 6 one year olds? I was going to sign up to bring grapes, but the paper said you have to cut them into fourths and that just seemed like a lot of work for grapes. If your one year old can't eat a grape whole, something may be wrong.

Cleo Cornhead

Here is a picture of Cleo after dinner one night. My son has a love of throwing things. It doesn't matter what it is, he will throw it. He threw a pencil at a waitress the other night. A little embarrassing. Anyways, he throws food too and one night he threw his corn and a morsel landed on Cleo's head and it was there for a while. It was pretty funny. By the end of that meal, Cleo had corn on her head and Caesar had Alfredo in his hair. Just another dinner at the Moore residence.

End of Football :-(

The Chargers lost last night in a very close game with Dickinson. We are very sad about this because we really wanted to make the playoffs. Oh well, next year, we will definitely make the playoffs. We did so well this year, especially for only having Juniors and Sophomores. What are we going to do on Friday nights now?? In other news, Charles' back is much better. He is walking normally and doesn't have as much pain. Colton is still going to school every Tuesday and Thursday. He still cries when we drop him off but only for a few seconds. He had a great day yesterday. I have posted a few of his pictures that he has drawn at school. He is a very great artist! He is also very excited that he will have a new cousin! Mark and Beth are expecting a baby in early July! Congratulations!!!

Pumpkin Patch

Today we took Colton to the pumpkin patch and Uncle Markie took pictures. Colton loved all the pumpkins and was upset when he couldn't lift them because they were too heavy. In other news, Charles got released today so he can finally go back to work tomorrow. He also got his staples out and doesn't have to wear his brace all the time anymore.

Halloween and our little Mickey!

Here is Mickey! We took him to the fire station haunted house on Sat. night. We didn't take him in the haunted house although he probably would have liked it. We just took him there to see all the other kids in costumes. There was a group of Asian kids. They were teenagers and they were taking pictures with Colton. The lady they were with explained that they were exchange students and this was their first halloween. Charles said Colton is already an internet sensation in China. Oh and here is a picture of his big boy fire bed.

Long time, no blog

Well, it's been a very busy week. I have had numerous meeting and a crazy big project at work. Plus Charles had back surgery on Monday so that's been a little rough. Things are slowing down now so that is good. Tonight, the Chargers play Alvin for their New Coming. Kind of like a homecoming except they haven't had anyone graduate yet so no one can come home. I am looking forward to it because the weather is nice like it should be for football season. Colton is talking quite a bit now. Still one word sentences, but talking none the less. He's pretty much the cutest kid ever.

We Won!

Clear Springs beat Clear Creek!!!! We are so excited. It was a big upset for Creek. We actually have a chance at making the playoffs!!! That would be so awesome. Charles is having surgery Monday. I will keep you all posted.

New Kids on the Block Concert Review

Last night, we went to the New Kids on the Block concert and it was so much fun! They played all the oldies and it was just an overall good concert! We were supposed to be sitting all the way up top, but when we got there, an usher stopped us and asked if we wanted to sit closer to the stage. Of course we did! We moved to section 103 which was a lot closer to the stage! We had a great view. I didn't bring my camera so I will have to post pictures when Stephanie and Heather send me theirs, but I have gotten some off of Chron.com. I give this concert ***** (Five Stars!)
